Preparing for the Future

You are probably aware that a few things have changed over the last couple of years at KI. We have pulled out our long-held Mission Statement, and accomplished much to bring everything we do into alignment with our Mission. We have retired a few classes, and implemented nearly thirty new ones as we refocus on “…training and equipping the serious Christian for ministry in today’s world.” That is our mission at Koinonia Institute. Every one of us has a mission to accomplish in building God’s kingdom — what is God calling you to do for Him?

Recently Sally Ilko, our Student Assistant Coordinator, decided it was time to pass the torch to another. She completed her first class in April of 2007, became a Teaching Assistant soon after completing her Bronze, quickly became our TA trainer, and in late 2011 became our TA Coordinator. She will be greatly missed. Diane Miltenburg in sunny Australia has graciously accepted the torch as the new SA Coordinator. She learned everything from Sally a number of years ago and has done a superb job over the years. She is greatly qualified and will be a great resource and source of encouragement.

It’s been a long time coming, but we have recently implemented some new Student Assistant Training materials. The training is required for all SAs, current and new. Now that those documents are in place, we are entertaining requests from students who have completed their Bronze level and above who have a passion for encouraging others in the classroom. If this is your passion and you are interested in serving in this way, contact

Some time back I announced that at some point we would begin to charge for the Medallions and the shipping costs. With the advent of the new K-House store, the medallions are now there as products. You will not be able to search for them because they are hidden. Starting in January 2019 when you have completed all the work required for a level, you will be provided with a link to the proper medallion in the store. The cost should be US $30.00 plus shipping. When earned, you will find the link displayed on your academic achievements page. If you are close to reaching that next Medallion, you still have a bit of time to finish up before those charges kick in, but don’t take too long.

May God Bless you richly as you study His WORD and prepare for your Kingdom Mission.
Stan H.
